Good morning lovely readers. You haven’t heard from me for a while and there is a good reason for that. I have been busy writing and working on getting a couple of new books on the market.
I am thrilled to tell you that my latest book, Dad on the Run, is now available on Amazon in both paperback and eBook versions. The book is co-written with my daughter Christa Brogan. But as always there’s a story behind the story. See the cover below created by my son Jim Taylor.
More than a decade ago we lost my mother-in-law Mae Taylor to the results of a fall most likely brought about by Alzheimer’s disease. She had been diagnosed years before which eventually led to her moving into the assisted living facility Windsor Gardens. The people in the facility were so good to her and she lived out her life completely happy in their care.
Our immediate family was in town for her funeral. During those few days our daughter announced that she and her husband were expecting their second child. As you can imagine it was a bittersweet time.
We talked as a family about some of Mae’s capers both before and after her diagnoses. She was a firecracker! The talks led to tears but also laughter. It was during this time my daughter and I came up with the idea for a book that would include the antics of someone advanced in years and with the onset of dementia. My husband and other members of the family chimed in with how the story could progress and Dad on the Run was born. An effort put forth by everyone in our family.
As a thank you to our loyal readers we are offering one of Christa’s YA books, Genesis, free on Kindle for a limited time. Beginning tomorrow and through January 13 you can get your free copy. So mark your calendars and download your copy of Genesis written by C.M. Brogan.
And if you’d like to read our new book Dad on the Run it is always free on KU, (as are all of my books) or at a reasonable price in paperback for those who prefer to hold a book in their hands.
Thank you for your support in this decade-long journey. We hope you enjoy the often hilarious and sometimes poignant tale of Dad on the Run.
Blessings,
Cyn Taylor and Christa Brogan
